A guide to ski and snowboarding levels - which explains the ability achieved in order to have a level. Levels required to participate in the skills clinics, or the premium products.
All levels are in accordance with the French national standard (SNMSF) and are internationally recognised.

the adult ski levels

I finish turns with skis parallel on blue and red runs
I ski parallel on blue and red runs, side-slip confidently, starting short turns.
I ski all groomed runs. I want to perfect short turns and off-piste techniques.
I ski all groomed runs and off-piste and want to hone specific techniques.

the child ski levels

I have not skied before
I ski with snowplough turns on very gentle slopes. I can move uphill using side and herringbone steps.
I ski with snowplough turns on blue runs

I finish my turns with skis parallel on blue runs. I can cross a run in a straight line.

I ski parallel on blue and easy red runs. I can side slip.

I ski parallel on marked out courses and on red runs. I can schuss straight downhill and finish with a parallel stop.

the adult & child snowboard levels

  I ride comfortably on easy red trails with different style turns. I have started to learn “Flat” techniques and jumps.
Rookie I can link turns on blue trails and slip using the falling leaf technique.
Intermediate I ride comfortably on easy red trails with different style turns. I have started to learn “Flat” techniques and jumps.
Advanced

I ride difficult reds and black trails, all-terrain and I have “Flat”, free-ride and jumps capacities.

Expert I’m working on refining free-ride, freestyle, “flat and off-piste. I master all types of turns including “fakie” in all conditions and jumps.
